Commenting on the UK Organ Donation Taskforce's report, Liberal Democrat Health spokesperson Mr Finnie said:

"I'm pleased that this expert group has given careful attention to the very complex issues of consent and organ donation.

"It is, however, clear that much is to be done to increase the number of people signing up for organ donation. Further work must also be carried out to ensure that once full consent has been given, the law in Scotland, which backs such a decision, can be enforced."
