Aberdeen South select new candidate

Aberdeen South Liberal Democrats today chose local campaigner John Sleigh as their prospective candidate for the next Westminster general election.

Nicol Stephen, MSP for Aberdeen South, said: "John has worked hard for the party and will make a great candidate."

Roy Thomson, convener of Aberdeen South Liberal Democrats, said: "This is the second most winnable seat in Scotland for the party. With this young enthusiastic candidate we are confident of winning whenever the general election comes."

John said: "I am delighted and honoured to be selected by the membership as candidate. The campaign for change starts now."
