Scott welcomes Council decision to debate viking application

Shetland MSP, Tavish Scott, has welcomed the decision by Shetland Islands Council to debate the application by Viking Energy to construct a large windfarm in Shetland.

Tavish Scott said;

"I welcome the decision by Shetland Islands Council members to debate the Viking proposal and to decide whether they support it or not. Our elected members are a crucial part of the decision making process on the Viking wind farm. It is right that they represent local people's views. I support their decision to debate this windfarm proposal. I look forward to that now happening so that the Scottish Government is in no doubt on the Council's view before they reach their own decision."
