Scottish Liberal Democrat Leader Tavish Scott challenged the First Minister to spell out where he draws the line on assisting criminals.
The First Minister failed to clarify in which cases SNP Ministers would intervene.
Commenting after First Minister's Questions, Mr. Scott said:
"The First Minister doesn't know where to draw the judgement line. It seems that anyone could walk into an SNP Minister's office and be guaranteed their support.
"The Justice Secretary talks tough on criminals. He wants to seize their assets and calls them "parasites who live off the back of law abiding folk".
"Yet the Deputy First Minister begs for leniency for a convicted fraudster.
"While Kenny MacAskill wants to 'take down' criminals, Nicola Sturgeon just takes down whatever they say and sends it to the judge.
"This confusion and lack of judgement characterises the SNP leadership."
Ends.
